Building a World-Class Core Facilities for Collaborative Scientific Technology

The Public Technology Facility at Shenzhen Bay Laboratory (SZBL) operates as a research-oriented facility aiming to meet the approaching research needs in life information science, biomedicine, and biomedical engineering.
Until now, we have established the Biomedical Research Core Facilities (BRCF) and the Laboratory Animal Center (LAC), which collaborate with other major scientific facilities in Shenzhen and the Greater Bay Area. This collaborative framework promotes an open, synergistic model of innovation that integrates core excellence with regional partnerships.
We are equipped with over 90 advanced instruments, collectively operating for over 200,000 hours annually, including over 29,000 hours shared externally. Our technical team comprises 42 full-time staff, including 11 PhD holders and more than 73% possessing graduate degrees. Continuous investment in personnel development and technological innovation enables us to support routine analytical services while also advancing novel methodologies and instrument capabilities.
With a strong emphasis on standardised management and service excellence, SZBL strives to provide efficient, high-quality, and standardised technical services. Our mission is to foster a technologically advanced, interdisciplinary, and accessible facility that supports both academic and industry-driven research through open access and fee-based services.
